10.2.3. Adjustment of a lay brake

Drive of a lay brake

1 – a forward cable;
2 – directing a back cable;
3 – оттяжная a spring of a forward cable;
4 – a counternut;
5 – an adjusting nut;
6 – распорная the plug

If the lay brake does not keep the car on a bias to 30 % or joins at moving of the lever more than on 4–5 teeth of the ratchet device, adjust it in a following order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Translate the lever in extreme bottom position.
2. Release a counternut 4 tension devices and, wrapping an adjusting nut 5, pull a cable so that the lever course on sector has made 4–5 teeths under effort 392 Н (40 кгс).

The prevention

If cables are replaced new make two, triple braking, putting to the lever of a drive of a lay brake the effort equal approximately 392 Н (40 кгс). Thus there will be an extract of cables.


3. Having executed some braking, be convinced that the lever course has not changed, and the car at this course затормаживается.
