3.12.3. Adjustment of a tension of a chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Ослабьте колпачковую a nut 1 (fig. the Cut натяжителя chains see) натяжителя. The core 3 is thus released and the chain stretches a boot 7 (fig. the Scheme of the mechanism of a drive of a camshaft and subsidiary organs see) on which the spring 8 (see fig. the Cut натяжителя chains) operates.
2. Turn a cranked shaft on 1–1,5 turns in a direction of rotation and stop in such position that the label on the case of bearings of a camshaft was against a label on a camshaft asterisk (see fig. Check of coincidence of an adjusting label an asterisk of a camshaft with a label on the case of bearings). Thus the spring натяжителя, operating on a boot, will automatically adjust a chain tension.
3. Tighten a nut 1 натяжителя thanks to what the core 3 is clamped by grips of a cracker 9, and at engine work on плунжер 7 the spring 5 operates only. This spring wrings out плунжер from a head of a core 3, and in a backlash between them at engine work the oil playing a role of the shock-absorber at blows of a chain becomes numb.
4. Thanks to the guaranteed backlash of 0,2-0,5 mm between a core 3 and плунжером 7 at strong blows of a chain the spring 8 comes into effect.
